The captain de Saint Exupéry (father of Antoine, author of the little Prince) made an exploration trip in Sudan in 1898 and then to the Oasis of Siwa in the company of the Khedive and then held a conference on his experience in Sudan and Siwa. The report on this conference is published in "Bulletin de la Société de Géographie Tome XIV 1906" by Frédéric Lemoine.
